Sonoran Estates consists of 94 homes built in 2 different phases located on the south side of the McDowell Mountain Ranch community. Sonoran Estates is a gated community featuring some of the largest lots within McDowell Mountain Ranch with the largest at almost 3 full acres.

The Sonoran Estates homes were constructed by J.F. Shea construction began in 2000. The 6 different floor planes in Sonoran Estates are the Paloma, Sabino, Carino, Santana, Topanga, and the Saguaro.
